Courses are not prescheduled throughout the year, but set up on request. Courses can be set up and held at your local fire department or EMS service if requested. We try to offer an evening classes during the spring and fall and with enough registration, a combined class during the summer. Start your career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) by becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and get paid to make a difference in your community.
Our Blended EMT Program is designed to provide flexibility by allowing students to complete most of the didactic (lecture and textbook) portion of the course from home. To be successful, students should be self-motivated, disciplined, and prepared to dedicate a minimum of 8 hours per week to studying in order to successfully complete the course and pass the National Registry exam.
Throughout the program, instructors will offer periodic live Zoom or Google Meet sessions to review material, answer questions, and provide additional support.
Please note: This is a blended program, not a fully online program. Students are required to complete 48 hours of in-person skills laboratory training scheduled throughout the semester.
Required in-person training includes:
-Three to four pre-scheduled Saturdays, each consisting of an 8-hour skills lab.
-Additional 4-hour weekday evening lab sessions to complete the required skills hours.
Blended students will also attend portions of the traditional EMT class as needed to complete required laboratory and hands-on skills training. Students are encouraged to attend additional class sessions whenever possible, as extra hands-on practice greatly enhances confidence, competency, and success throughout the course.
